Placeholder Functionality Removed

Placeholders used to always work whenever pasted into an email message.
Mailbutler removed this functionality in a recent update so the only way a placeholder works is by manually using Mailbutler's placeholder insert process which takes several extra clicks.
Mailbutler has removed automation and convenience from a plugin whose entire purpose is to improve automation and convenience.
Please put the original functionality back so we can simply paste in placeholders or messages and have the placeholders work like they always did.

Mike, could you please explain your workflow that appears to you more efficient than using Mailbutler's message templates, including placeholders?
We would like to better understand your scenario to further improve the message template feature

Fabian: thank you for asking.
Inputting an email message through copy/paste via a single click from a keyboard shortcut is significantly faster and more efficient than navigating Mailbutler's message template feature, which requires several extra clicks.
Also, being free to use efficiency apps like TextExpander (which allows the user to enter any custom or pre-programmed text via a single keyboard shortcut) in conjunction with Mailbutler is also a much faster solution.
Again, a single click.
The only way for Mailbutler's template feature to match this streamlined efficiency would be to allow users to input any template with a single-click or programmed keyboard shortcut, which could become cumbersome depending upon how many templates the user has, etc.
Which, at that point, why not just put back this original basic functionality that was mysteriously removed in one of the September 2021 updates?
Removing or limiting the ways in which people can use an efficiency app (especially when those ways are more efficient) seems to defeat the purpose. In both of the above use cases, the user is still using Mailbutler.
Mailbutler's templates also sometimes have subtle formatting issues that need to be corrected every time the template is applied, which is another issue in and of itself, but just another step that adds time for those of us replying to many emails.

Mike, Thank you very much for your feedback!
We limited the usage of placeholders to our very own message templates due to various reasons.
I get your point of quickly accessing particular message templates and I am pretty sure we can improve on this aspect! Currently, you can already use a keyboard shortcut to bring up the template insertion dialog and you can start typing into the search field to find the correct template. Simply hitting return should then insert the sought template. In total, that process only requires very few keystrokes and should also be very efficient.
Please let me know if you have any issues with this workflow with Mailbutler's message templates.

Fabian: thank you for the reply. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
You originally asked me how the original placeholder functionality was more efficient before Mailbutler removed it.
I tried to explain that the original placeholder functionality allowed users to include placeholders in any email text with a single click (either through the "paste" function or through a single keyboard shortcut with apps like TextExpander).
I also tried to explain that, by removing this basic placeholder functionality and forcing users to go through Mailbutler's template insertion feature, that this results in multiple extra clicks being required.
Your response here is essentially telling me that multiple clicks is also efficient and then you're asking me again what the issue is with Mailbutler's current workflow when I just explained it in great detail.
I'm honestly so confused by your response because, based on your response, you and Mailbutler are trying to pretend or convince yourselves that multiple steps is somehow comparable in efficiency to a single step.
I apologize if that comes across as rude, but objectively, that really seems to be what's happening here.
Please put back the original placeholder functionality.
If you are an app that cares at all about efficiency and saving your users time, you should not be adding extra steps as a requirement for any process in your app.
Respectfully,
Mike

I am sorry if any frustration came across in my response, it just really is frustrating because I don't think I have ever seen a more clear-cut instance of reduced efficiency (going from a single step to multiple steps), and you're trying to tell me that somehow this isn't a reduction in efficiency or a major concern for an app whose entire purpose is to help improve efficiency.

Hi Fabian, was just checking to see if you saw my reply to your message, thank you!
