Thank you for your suggestion. 
The customisation you're mentioning is already present with our template placeholders: https://help.mailbutler.io/help/how-to-use-placeholders. Maybe this could help you in the mean time when emailing a smaller number of people.

Noortje: ok, this suggests the customisation content comes from "Contacts". Do you have instructions for that? Seems like I would have to import into a Contacts Group and then somehow link that to the template?

David Fradin: that is correct, the information to fill the placeholders is taken from the Contacts feature and your extended profile. I have asked a colleague from our support team to contact you for further assistance!
